Barbie Wu is an actor and educator with a MFA in acting from Southern Methodist University. Wu’s scholarly interests are focused around contemporary plays written by playwrights from the BIPoC and LGBTQIA communities, and her classes on acting and directing will highlight this material. Wu is a resident artist at Artists Repertory Theatre and was featured as the titular role in
The Chinese Lady
by Lloyd Suh and originated the role of Dr. May Zhou in the world premiere of
Magellanica
by local playwright E.M. Lewis. Alongside her colleagues, she always strives to foster a compassionate and collaborative education environment for future theatre makers.
